Personality: Lorna is a people pleaser. She's playful, happy, and incredibly friendly. She has been quite popular in the past, and would probably be the Cheerleading Captain at Xavier's School if there was a Cheerleading Team. Usually she makes friends with everyone she's met, and she has tried to always be there for anyone who needs an ear--even if she doesn't know them all that well. It doesn't take long for Lorna to open up to people--and, strangely enough, for them to open up to her. She can be perfect strangers with a person on one day, and best friends the next.

One of her faults in this category is her incredibly high self-esteem, and her ego. Lorna is a very pretty girl, and she knows it. She has been known to use that to her advantage. It's not a very nice thing, but it's something she's done. She knows when she does it, and she regrets it, but sometimes she cannot stop herself from batting her pretty eyelashes and showing a little skin for things to go her way.

As well as being the girl behind all the pranks at the school, Lorna is likely to be the one e-mailing everyone the next day about it. She has a wonderful sense of humor, and is very, very rarely the cause of a prank that might hurt a person's feelings. Though she does enjoy a good laugh, and will cast a prank or two, she will never cause any real trouble or mayhem. Putting food coloring into a person's shampoo so their hair changes color is one thing--but lighting fires or disrupting class is completely different.

Lorna is also very much a stickler for rules and being on time to things. She never misses a class, always eats her vegetables, and would be a very good Girl Scout if her parents ever put her into the program. She will always have her homework done, and works very hard to achieve her goals. Lorna's smart, and interested in learning, and politics. Her grades are generally pretty good, and she's hoping to study pre-law when she goes off to school.

Age AND Dob: February 10, 1989, making her 18 and an Aquarius and a Snake.

The female Aquarius is gifted with broad shoulders and a highly defined bone structure. You also have a long, graceful, swanlike neck to top off the entire ensemble. You have a way of completely ignoring the standard patterns of accepted femininity in your society, but always in such a manner as to trump them utterly and make them seem old-fashioned and faintly ridiculous.

Having a wide variety of interests as you do, you find it very easy to identify and commune with people from all cultures and all walks of life. This allows you to accept many different viewpoints with ease on any given question. You also have a distinct lack of self-confidence, and tend to overly rely upon semi-mystical divination systems to tell you what to do on a day-to-day basis.

The female Snake is witty and humorous, and can cut rivals down to size with just the right well-turned phrase from her forked tongue. You are also captivatingly beautiful, and are used to getting your own way in things -- which is why you are capable of throwing a temper tantrum or two if balked on the odd occasion. You are free of the vice of false modesty, as you have it, flaunt it, and make no bones about it.

You prefer your home space to be an inviolate nest of comfort, as place to recharge from the stresses of the day. Those who wrong you will meet with intense vengeance somewhere along the line, as you are never quick to forget a slight. You have a feminine wisdom that is swift to penetrate to the root cause of every phenomenon.

Polaris' mutant powers enable her to control magnetism, including manipulating metals which are susceptible to that force. She can also manipulate the Earth's magnetic field to allow herself to fly, generate magnetic energy pulses and create force-fields. She has bright green hair, the first indication of her mutation. At first, she dyed her hair brown to hide this. In recent comics she appears with her characteristic green hair...

My Lorna:
Lorna has the ability to manipulate metal by will and power of her mind. This ability must be honed and practiced, which is part of the reason that Lorna is at the school. She has been able to move and manipulate small objects, lock mechanisms, jewelry, silverware and other idle tricks. The lifting cars and stopping bullets will come later. Lorna also has the ability to bend gravity to her will. She can use it to make herself levitate off the ground. (A power she has yet to uncover.) Flying will come later as well. With more practice and honing of her skills, she'll be able to soar.

History:
Lorna grew up in Michigan, about an hour outside of Grand Rapids. Lorna's first hint of mutation was her hair. Her hair has been green from birth. During her childhood, she kept her hair dyed brown, then during her teenage years she bleached it to hide the green. Her adopted parents, though they loved her very much, didn't know how to handle her. Nor did they know how to help her learn her powers. She spent the first ten years of her life not understanding how or why she was different. Around her tenth birthday, Lorna started to learn about other mutants and people with other differences. She started to learn more and more about the outside of her smalltown community, and started to want that.

That was when trouble started for Lorna in her life. She was restless, wanting to get out of her current situation and find others like her. Her parents and neighbors didn't understand, and were starting to fear her after her powers began to show. She was able to make metal things move--what's worse, they'd move out of her control when she became agitated or angry. Her teenage years weren't very happy, and involved a lot of slammed doors and forks flying across the kitchen. Her adopted parents started to fear for their own lives, though they would never tell her to her face. They were told about Xavier's school from a friend of a friend at a Halloween Party when Lorna was Fifteen. Lorna was enrolled, and the following year, left for school.

Lorna's been at the school for a year now. She's will be eighteen in February, and will finish her "high school" education in June. The past year has been one of the best years of her life. Finally she's been surrounded by others like her, able to practice her powers and abilities, and to study with those who understand her and what she's been through. She's met many new friends, and has started on a new chapter of her life.
